The Fairtrade group is selected annually for the current school session. We have been working hard to promote Fairtrade within the school community and the wider school environment.

We are happy to be a Fair Achiever School – an award presented by the Fairtrade Foundation. It offers our students a great opportunity to look at global issues such as where our food comes from and how we are connected to people around the world. Students can also learn a range of skills, from teamwork and co-operation to running a stall or tuck shop.

Teaching about Fairtrade fits different curriculum areas, especially Geography, Citizenship and PSHE.

We have recently won the Scottish Fair Trade Forum Campaign Award 2020 for the Christmas window display pupils made for Rainbow Turtle shop in Paisley as part of our Fair Trade curriculum!

Our Fairtrade Group includes pupils from P4 to S6 and some of our staff.  We hold regular meetings and do a lot of work in the school to encourage everyone to support Fairtrade within the school and the wider community. Each month we have a Fairtrade Stall which we get from Rainbow Turtle.  A text will go home to let parents and carers know when the stall is in school.
