House Points

At Heriot Primary we believe that pupils thrive when they receive praise for their effort, success in their studies, sport, music and other extra-curricular involvement in the life of the school. The aim of our House Points system is to work together to create a happy and productive learning community.

Our four houses are named after famous Paisley parks and were chosen by our pupils. Barshaw; Maxwellton; Brodie; and Durrockstock. Children are given a house when they join our school and we put families within the same house. Children collect points during a term and at the end of each term the House Points Cup is awarded to the House with the most House Points. Children can earn House Points by consistent and sustained effort in their class, producing good quality work, being polite and courteous, helping each other and by setting a good example. We also hold special ‘House Events’ throughout the year where children can come together with others from their House to take part in competitions and events to win extra House Points for their House.

Our House Captains and Vice House Captains are chosen following the completion of an application and an interview by members of staff. This year’s House Captains, Vice House Captains and Prefects are:
