As part of their ‘People Who Help us topic Primary 2 had a visit from two Police Officers. Boys and girls had a fantastic time finding out more about how Police Officers help people and what the job involves. Thank you very much to the two officers for their time.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported the school at our Christmas Fayre. We are delighted to let you know that our Parent Council raised approx £2000! Well done to everyone who contributed by helping with the organisation, helping on the day and donating tombola items. We were grateful to have Santa here too as we know how busy he is just now. A very special thank you to our Parent Council Members for their time and effort in making our Fayre successful and enjoyable for everyone.
We teamed up with Nessie Limited to encourage all of the boys and girls from Nursery to Primary 7, staff and parents to recycle any of their clothes that they no longer need. Not only were we promoting recycling in the local community, Nessie Limited will gave the school 50p per kilo of clothes.
With your support we managed to raise
£100
Thank you so much! We will use this to purchase items to help the school continue to contribute positively to the ‘Eco Schools Green Flag Scheme’. Keep checking this blog for regular updates on our progress as an Eco Committee.
Boys and girls have been studying the concept of leadership through a series of ‘The Leader in Me’ assemblies. They have explored what skills and qualities it takes to be a leader and how they can use these strategies at every stage in their lives to help them to become both lifelong learners and the best they can be.
Children have also been rewarded for displaying these skills and qualities through our Head Teacher Awards every Friday.
This morning we were treated to a visit from P.A.C.E. to teach us a play all about the Paisley 2021 City of Culture bid. Primary 7 and Primary 6/7 had been learning the songs for a few weeks but in one hour the leaders from P.A.C.E. had managed to teach all of our pupils actions, lines and made the show into a performance!
The play was all about Paisley, its history, its present and our hopes for its future. The boys and girls did an amazing job and wowed the audience made up of pupils from the rest of the school. A huge thank you tom P.A.C.E. for this fantastic opportunity and remember, ‘Back the Bid!’ #Paisley2021
A huge thank you to our Parent Council who organised and ran ‘fangtastic’ Hallowe’en dicos. The children had a ‘spooktacular’ time and we managed to raise £400!
A big thank you to our parents and carers too for all of the work that went into the children’s costumes, they all looked amazing!
As part of the Hallowe’en Discos the Parent Council also held a special raffle. The raffle was won by a Primary 5 pupil and two Primary 7 pupils (pictured below). From this we also managed to raise a massive £247! Thank you for all of your continued support.
