Well done to our stars this week ππΌπ!
Farming and Agriculture Topic – Help Needed!
This term, Primary 4 will be learning about food and the journey from farm to fork. We were wondering if there is anyone in our school community who works in this area who could come and talk to the children about farming, agriculture and the journey their food goes through before it reaches them on the dinner table.
If you could help with this project, please complete the contact form below.
With thanks, the P4 Teachers
Field and Pitch Rota – Term 3
Here is the rota for term three. Hopefully we manage to get someΒ kinder weather in the weeks ahead.
Rules
- The field is only open during Lunchtimes.
- Field shoes must be worn. If you do not have a change of shoes you cannot go down. P1 already have indoor shoes in their classroom however all other classes will need to bring in a change of shoes in for the field.
- You can only access the field when it is your turn.
It will either be P1-3 or P4-7. - You can only access the pitch when it is your turn. Be careful as these days may be different. Every year group will get a turn.
- Sadly, if it is raining you will miss your day.
- Remember to put all litter in the bins provided. Have lots of fun but please keep up the Bishopton Standard.
STEM Day: Resource Appeal
Hello!
Our STEM Ambassadors have been working extremely hard preparing for our whole school STEM day on 14th February, creating plans, activities and tasks based on Global Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
In order to fulfill our plans, we need your help! If you could please collect for us any recyclable goods – for example, cardboard boxes, glass jars (washed out if you can π ), yoghurt pots, bottles and other goods.
We would also welcome any donations of old shoes, guttering, wood or anything locally or sustainability made.
If you could please send any small donations in with your child and they will be delivered to P2K, P4B or P7C. If you have anything larger you wish to donate, please drop it in to the school office and it will make its way to our classrooms. Alternatively, please contact us if you have anything you’d like to hand in, but are unsure as to how to get it to us.
As always, thank you for your support; it is very much appreciated and allows us to develop the ideas of our pupils.
Best,
STEM Ambassadors, Mrs Kane, Mr Burrell and Miss Cauley

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
As part of our Eco School Action Plan the Global Citizenship group held a Guess the Teddy’s Birthday event to raise money to support the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
This was very successful and raised Β£200 for the charity. Renfrewshire Council very generously matched this amount giving us a grand total of Β£400!!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in making this event such a success.
Our lucky winner who guessed the correct birthday was……..
Zoe (P3C) – congratulations, we hope you love your husky.

Project 31: Sustainability Snaps
Hello everyone,
Following on from our sustainability day on Friday, here are just a few snaps of our team in action. During the day we created scarves and scrunchies from pre-loved pieces of clothing as well as running a variety of awareness workshops focusing on sustainable fashion and clothing production.
It was a brilliant day and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Another huge well done to the members of Project 31 for all their efforts in organising and running the event, and to our fabulous house captains for their help and support during the day! We are very proud of you all π

Good afternoon!
I would like to say a massive thank you to our Primary Five Project 31 members ππΌ. We have worked very hard this term to learn how to up-cycle old clothes into scrunchies and scarves at our lunchtime club. In addition, they planned our event today where we had various stations including:
-plotting which country your clothes were made in on a word map to understand the carbon footprintβππΊ
–creating top trump cards based on your clothesπππ
–creating games from re-cycling materialsπ²
-a Kahoot quiz on sustainable clothingπ»πβ
-scarves and scrunching makingβπ§£π§€
–trading items at our swap shopβ»πβ½π§©
Thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy this event and to our fantastic House Captains for assisting Primary Five with their activities. πΒ I hope you are looking forward to our next Project 31 Sustainability Day! π
We took lots of photographs this afternoon and we hope to post over the next few days. πΈ
