Scottish Child Payment

http://mygov.scot Click here for the leaflet.

If you have a child who will be under six on 15 February 2021 and you get certain benefits or tax credits, you could be due £40 every four weeks per child once Scottish Child Payment starts.

To help us deal with demand, we are taking applications
now. This way we can make sure we have all the
information and evidence we need. This will help us to
quickly make our decision on your application once the
benefit starts. We will then start making payments from the
end of February 2021.

When you apply for Scottish Child Payment, you can also
apply for Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods at the same
time and on the same form.

Check if you are eligible and apply now at
http://mygov.scot/benefits or by calling 0800 182 2222.

Maths Week Scotland 2020 – 28th September to 4th October

@AttainRen #MWSREN

From Monday 28th September to Sunday 4th October, we will be celebrating all things about maths and numeracy because it is Maths Week Scotland 2020! The Renfrewshire theme is ‘Maths at Work‘ so your child may be asking you when and how you use maths in your job or every day life.

P2-7 pupils are all entered in the National Sumdog Contest which  they will play in school and can also play at home. We will be having fun in school exploring and investigating a variety of maths topics and concepts. We will be challenging ourselves with low floor high ceiling tasks and making mistakes and connections throughout the week!

Keep checking our blog and Twitter feed for photos and updates of what we are up to!

Using Teams and Glow for Homework

Most classes will be issuing homework from Monday 31st August. To minimise paperwork and jotters being brought back and forth between home and school, we will be using Teams to upload the completed homework tasks. Please have a look at previously published post to help you and your child navigate Glow and Teams.

ParentPay and Parent Portal

In support of Renfrewshire’s ambition to provide better communications between parents/carers and our schools, we are excited to launch Parentsportal.scot – an exciting new initiative which enables and creates a digital relationship between parents, pupils and schools.

The portal is designed to replace the ‘schoolbag run’, giving parents online access to a range of school-related services.  At the heart of the system, is a secure online account through mygov.scot which is referred to as a ‘My Account’.  This is already used in over half of Renfrewshire schools enabling parents to make payments online.

The first phase of the service will introduce basic information about your school and will allow you to link to your child and update your own, as well as your child’s details as part of the Annual Data Check process, that is now managed electronically.

As the portal develops, we look forward to seeing more services introduced in the coming months.

On signing up to the portal, you will be able to link to your child and gain access to the services which are currently available.  Please note this service is only available to Primary and Secondary children.  In order to link to your child, the data you provide during the sign up process must match the most up-to-date data that your child’s school holds.

Could I ask you to open a Parentpay account if you haven’t already done so? Also, look out for e-mail from ParentPay on the Launch of Parentsportal. Click the link below for instructions how to create an account:
