Barsail’s Busy Eco Committee!

Thank you for helping Barsail recycle! By bringing in ink cartridges and toners, Barsail have raised £14.85 and 15 green points. Our Ragbag collection also helped raise a fantastic £317.60 by collecting 794kg of clothing. We really appreciate the ongoing support to our Eco Committee! Please continue to help us by putting used ink cartridges in the boxes outside Primary 7. A reminder that only branded/labelled toners can be recycled.

January 27th will be the final day for Christmas card collections. If you have any cards you are going to bin, hand them into Primary 5 for recycling.

Unfortunately, we are no longer collecting batteries for recycling.

The Eco Committee have been working hard on Barsail’s Action Plan. We will focus on Litter, Water and Waste as a result of our Environmental Review which was completed by the whole school. We will also plan activities for Primary 1 to Primary 7 for our Eco Day in March and hold an assembly to share what we have been doing so far.

Christmas Card Collection!

Christmas is fast approaching and many cards have been given out to wish you a Merry Christmas! However, in January we are asking you don’t put your cards straight into the bin. Barsail will be collecting all your used Christmas cards for recycling at a local supermarket.

TONER RECYCLING!

A BIG thank you to everyone who has brought in ink and toner cartridges for recycling so far! Please continue to bring cartridges in and drop them off in the boxes outside Primary 7. The small brown box is for ink cartridges and the large white box is for toners.
Empties Please has politely asked to ensure we recycle the correct brands:
They DO NOT accept remanufactured/compatible toner cartridges as they can only recycle branded toners.
TOP TIP: if you cannot clearly see the printer manufacturers logo on the toner e.g. HP, Brother etc then it isn’t branded and it can’t be recycled.
Thank you again for all your help!
