Ski Week

Last week ten children from P5-7  went on a fantastic trip to Nethy Bridge, where they enjoyed a week of skiing and other outdoor activities.

They were joined there by nine children from Muthill Primary who they got to know very well.

Most days the children got a chance to ski either on the dry slope or on snow.  If the children were not skiing, they were taking part in outdoor problem solving activities, zip wiring, a mini assault course and daily swimming.

A big thank you to Mrs Bickerton, who was our parent helper and who faced the most challenging skiing.  A big thank you also to the wonderful staff of Abernethy who made this trip so enjoyable! Last but not least, the fantastic children of Braco who were keen to take part in all activities and who were wonderfully behaved!

Scottish Celebration

On Friday 26 th. January the whole school came together for a Scottish  celebration afternoon.

Three winners from each class recited their Scottish poem in front of the whole school, Mums and Dads and grandparents. After these recitals, there was one winner from each class chosen by our judges, The Head Boy and Girl from Crieff High School.

While their decision was being made, the children sang Scottish songs, played Scottish music on violins and guitars. Parents were invited to make a small donation for shortbread and scones, made by the P7’s, for funds for their P7 trip later on in the year.

Congratulations to everyone who took part, our class winners and the overall winner of the Bobby Muir Cup!

A big thank you to our judges, Mrs Chalamanda and everyone who attended.

I Bike Breakfast

On Friday, 3rd. November, Robyn Warburton and Dr Bike from Comrie Croft came to Braco Primary to promote cycling to school.

Everyone was invited to come along, if they wished, to a Breakfast run by Sustrans. Children were also offered the chance to have their bike checked over by Dr Bike.

In class Robyn held a short Get Together about her work and how she wants the children to be more interested in promoting cycling, walking even riding scooters to school. She will be returning again to help run another event.

Thanks to Robyn and the Comrie Crew for arranging this for the school.

House Football Tournament

On Friday 29th September, the whole school attended the House Football tournament, where pupils could earn points for their House by taking part in the competition. The children who did not take part, supported their House teams on the stage.

There were junior and senior events. In the end Keirallan won both the senior and junior competition.  Fred Teasdale was the top scorer in the senior competition and James Ross was the top scorer in the junior event.

Well done to everyone who took part in the tournament!

Family Cycle Event

On Friday 2nd. June, parents, children and staff had a lovely time cycling around the Castle Drive. The sun kept shining, which made it even better!

Afterwards, Mrs Fridge from Nursery had organised a cake stall to raise funds for Nursery to buy balance bikes.

This event was arranged by Emily Greaves the Sport Co-ordinator for the Crieff cluster of schools. Thanks to Emily and all of those who took part in the event!

Our French and German Morning

On the last day of term just before the Easter holidays, the whole school invited parents along to find out out what the children had been learning in French and German.

Parents watched videos, which the classes had made, showing songs and games they use to help them learn new vocabulary.

Everyone then joined together to have a selection of French and German foods for their breakfast. Thank you to Mrs Chalamanda who came along and made delicious waffles!

The morning ended with the children singing a few songs in French and German to the parents.

A wonderful morning to start us on our holidays!
