Wheelbarrow Garden Competition 2022

With last years wheelbarrow garden competition (link) having been a great success, we’ve decided to run the competition again this year. Last year the wheelbarrow gardens brought brightness and cheer to the Papay roadsides well into October so we’re hoping this will be the case again. Details of the competition can be found on the two photos below and in the Papay Shop.  

The Papay School Visitor Book Box Trail (and New Bicycles!)

This year the children (and staff) are working towards their second level (Explorer) John Muir Award. The John Muir Award has four challenges – related to Discovering, Exploring, Conserving and Sharing your place. This year, one of our main projects aiming at ‘sharing’ Papay with others is to create a ‘Visitor Book Box’ trail. Restore the Shore – Cassie Sea Wall Building Near the Kelp Store.

In the final week of term we had a visit down to the Kelp Store, where we performed our Seaweed Survey back in September, link.
