Halloween at Papay School

Halloween at Papay school

This is pupil post number 2, all about Halloween.

At the start of term 2 we had two Halloween days. We all came in costumes, I came as a ghost, the rest of us came as a Frankenstein pumpkin, the grim reaper, a witch and a Victorian man with a headless bear.

After break we did improvisation (drama) and added dramatic sound and voices to our photos on seesaw. At lunch time the hall was decorated for lunch. After lunch we read together and played Simpsons top trumps (Halloween edition).

The day before we made a timeline of the history of Halloween. We learnt that Samhain (sam-wain) is an old name for Halloween. Also we learnt that food has always been a part of Halloween and costumes too. We also carved pumpkins it was quite fun but I didn’t like the feel of hollowing it out because it was slimy. The next day we put candles in them.
