Good Morning P3 – We are starting a new week and a new month today. It always takes me a while to get used to writing a new month in the date – so please let me know if I make a mistake 😊.

Target Number

  • Choose a target number.
  • How many adding sums can you create that give your target number as the answer.
  • You can set yourself a time limit if you like.
  • Repeat for different target numbers.

Challenge

  • Can you think of any subtraction, multiplication or division sums that  give you your target number as your answer?

 

Main Task

Some of the addition sums  in this task require carrying over of digits.

Remember – start by adding the units, if the units added together give you a two digit number the ten needs to be carried over.

Copy and complete following addition sums.

 

Challenge

  • Explain the strategy you used to complete your addition sums to someone at home or make a poster explaining how to carry over numbers.

Rainbow Spelling- draw a rainbow with five arcs.  in each arc write each of your spelling words as many times as you can fit in. You can use a different colour if you like.

 

Main Task

Try to create a Mnemonic to help you remember the spelling for each of your spelling words.

Use a timer set at sixty seconds.

How many times can you write your words in one minute?

Look in books, magazines, online – how many of each of your words can you find.
