As the Primary 7’s are visiting the High School for the next 6 weeks, our gym time will change from before lunchtime to first thing in the morning.Β As a result, could all children please come to school wearing their gym kit on Wednesdays and bring their school clothes with them in their bags.Β This will mean that we don’t lose any of our precious gym time getting changed!
Today was Roald Dahl Day and, to celebrate, Primary 5 took part in a Roald Dahl quiz (well done to the winning team ‘The Golden Tickets!’) and became illustrators by redesigning the front cover of their favourite Roald Dahl book.Β I think they look great!
Today Mr McMullan kindly offered Primary 5 the chance to see how the honey is harvested from our bee hives!Β It was so interesting!Β We can’t wait to see how much money Primary 7 can raise this year through the sale of their honey and lip balm.
Today Primary 5 have had such a fun time listening to everyone’s ‘All About Me’ homework presentations.Β I was absolutely thrilled with how much time and effort you all clearly spent on them!Β (Also a huge thank you to all the mums and dads for the time you all spent digging up pictures and craft materials – the children were all really proud to show the class their work).

No rest for Primary 5 though, new homework jotters and activities have been handed out today.Β Please let me know if you have any questions or are in need of any materials for the Art and Design activity.
Today we watched ‘Spiderman into the Spider-Verse’ as our prize for winning the cool class cup – it was brilliant!Β We are aiming to win it again soon so that we can get another treat!
Today, as a result of our magnificent start to the year,Β Primary 5 won the first Cool Class Cup!Β As a prize, we were awarded a movie afternoon and hot chocolate.Β We had a vote, and we decided that the film we would most like to watch is Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse.Β We are intending to watch the film next Friday afternoon, however it is a PG so if you have any objections please let myself or the office know before then.
Well done Primary 5, keep up the fantastic work!Β In particular, well done to Eilish who won our first star pupil of the year.Β Thanks for all your help this week Eilish!
I hope everyone has enjoyed the first couple of days in Primary 5! Β I have certainly had a lovely time getting to know you all a little better. Iβll see you all on Monday for the start of our first full week together!

Please also note that this year our P.E. days are Mondays and Wednesdays.
Today Primary 5 had a blast on our summer trip to the science centre! Our favourite attractions were the optical illusion room which made us all feel really dizzy, the wind machine and our show which was all about how our bodies work.
See you all on Monday for our last week of Primary 5! ππΌπ
Primary 5 have been learning about shadows recently and today we investigated what happens to our shadows throughout the day. We went into the playground at 9, 11, 12 and 1 oβclock and, making sure to stand in the exact same spot, we had our partner draw around our shadows. What we discovered was that, Β not only did our shadows move round throughout the day, they also got shorter due to the position of our light source (the sun).
Yesterday was sports day and Primary 5 had a blast taking part in a variety of sports-based activities such as tennis, basketball, football and archery.Β We also really enjoyed the chance to have a go on the space hoppers, scooters, terror slide and gym equipment!
