Today Primary 5 were asked to come along to help the Primary 1โs in I.C.T.
Miss Donald remarked at how encouraging the class were and said we were a great help. Primary 5 really enjoyed the chance to help the younger children, we definitely have some future teachers among us!
Primary 5 had a busy day today; we had our first times table of the week test this morning (well done to the five pupils who were selected and won their groups 10 points each) then we were continuing with our learning about common multiples.ย After break we were working in our reading groups and completing reading tasks then after lunch we were learning how to ask and reply to the question “Do you have an animal?” in French.ย By the end of the lessonย everyone in the class was able to say what animals they had and some were able to tell us their pet’s name using “qui s’appelle”.
Today we have been continuing our work on the 3x table, learning about food poisoning and ways to ensure the food that we eat is safe and making some New Years Resolutions. Some children have grand plans for the coming year with resolutions such as to travel the world; others had less lofty ideas such as to keep their bedrooms a little tidier or to practise their drawing.
Welcome back after the break, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! ย Today we began our multiplication topic so we were playing some times tables games. Our focus this week is the 3x table.โ๏ธโ
Today we were writing persuasive letters to Santa. We used compliments to try and convince Santa to bring us the toy that we asked for. One of my personal favourite sentences was โYour beard is looking spectacular this year, you really are ageing very wellโ.
In addition this afternoon we were experimenting with water marbling which everyone really enjoyed.
