In literacy we were identifying parenthesis and subsequently adding parenthesis into a sentence. We were getting really inventive with it!
At the end of the day we were practising how to talk about our pets in french. We could not only say that we have a dog or a fish etc., but also what colour they are and what their name is.
Great work today Primary 5, you certainly earned your weekend! Have a lovely time and I will see you all on Monday!
Today we were peer assessing our partner’s reading. We were listening for whether our partner was reading clearly, fluently, with good expression and whether they were taking account of punctuation. We then gave them two stars for things they did well and a wish of something they could practise.
Primary 5 have had such a busy day today! Firstly, we were joined this morning by lots of our mums, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles to share our learning on our times tables.
Following that we learned about Chinese New Year, which takes place tomorrow, and the story of the Chinese Zodiac. This afternoon we had the opportunity to taste lots of different Chinese food. Judging by the fact that there was none left at the end, I think it was a hit!
Next week we are moving on to look at the six times table so it would be a great idea to get a little practise in over the weekend. Here is the 6x table Super Mover song along with links to Hit the Button and the Daily 10.
Today was our Big Writing lesson and we were looking at helping our readers visualise our stories through setting description.
We also continued our work on the 4x table. Some children know it off-by-heart now but others are still a little rusty. There are lots of ways you can practise at home (hit the button and the daily 10 on top marks are some of our favourites but sometimes good old-fashioned repetition through saying it aloud or writing it down works too!)
