Writing Tuesday
Today is the day we do some work on our writing 📝 . Remember it doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to spell a word – just sound it out and try your best to write it 🤩.
Warm up:
Start today by writing the alphabet in your jotter – try and use your neatest handwriting
Make sure you remembertall, fallandsmall letters
You can choose to practice writing lowercase letters, uppercase letters or both!
Main Activity:
Look at the picture below. Talk about it with someone at home. Think about these questions:
What is the weather like?
Are they a family?
What are they doing?
What are they doing with the bucket and spade?
Where are the children?
Is it the weekend or the school holidays?
Write about the picture using sentences. Say your sentences out loud before you write them and read them back to make sure they make sense

Phonics Monday
Today we are going to do some work on our sounds and digraphs.
Warm up:
How many of our digraphs can you remember?
Can you read these words?

Main Activity:
Copy and complete the sheet below by adding the missing digraphs to the start of each word
If you would like to, you can draw a picture to go along with your words
Extra Challenge:
Try making up a funny story with as many of the words from the sheet as you can. You don’t need to write the story down – you can just say it out loud. I managed 8 in my story below – can you beat me?

Primary 2 worksheet:
Can you split these numbers into tens and ones? How many tens are in each number? How many ones are there? Remember ‘ones’ and ‘units’ mean the same thing
Extra Challenge:
Can you write any numbers using things you might have in your house, or things you might find outside e.g. sticks, stones or leaves? Look at the pictures below for some ideas

Remember to try and answer in a full sentence with a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.

Read the short story below about Casper and then answer the questions in your jotter.
Remember to write your answer in a full sentence with a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop. Not just with one word. So for question number 1 your answer would start:-

In your jotter write words with ng in them
Write a sentence with a ng word in it. Remember a capital letter, full stop and finger spaces in your sentence.

Main Activity:
Look at the picture below. Talk about it with someone at home. Think about these questions:
Who is in the story?
What day is it? Is it the holidays?
What are they doing?
Where are they?
What are they wearing?
Why are they outside?
Write about the picture using sentences. Say your sentences out loud before you write them.
Remember capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
Write your letters neatly and remember to keep reading your sentence back to make sure it makes sense and you haven’t missed any words.

Extra Challenge:
Can you include a joining word – and, but, so or because – to join two sentences together?
Can you use any describing words to add extra detail to your story e.g.red boots, dark clouds.
