Yesterday children had fun acting out the story of Jack and the Beanstalk using masks and playing outdoors where children worked with our student Miss Lamb to draw their bodies and working with numbers. For snack they had breadsticks with fruit.
Today children were acting out parts of the story from Jack and The Beanstalk. Their literacy challenge is to recall the story and for maths to order the size of different pictures from the story. Children were also planting outdoors. Cereal for snack today.
Stay and Play on Wednesday and P1 visit also on Wednesday.
Today was the first visit to P 1 for children who will be going to school this year. They all did really well!
Today children had a busy day, painting, measuring and comparing their heights, playing outdoors, dressing up to sing songs, reading non fiction books and pouring and measuring in the water. Snack was noodles with chicken and peppers…….yummy! Tomorrow P 1 visit from 1.00-2.00.
Today children had fun playing with the new resources in both the maths and literacy areas. We have also swapped our story corner with our maths area which looks really lovely! This week’s challenge for the literacy area is focused around the letter ‘p’ for plants. We are learning about growth and about plants. Fun was had outdoors, exploring some properties of water. Snack was a variety of cereals.
STAY AND PLAY is next Wednesday 2 nd of April 10.45/3.00. Also P1 visits begin THIS Wednesday at 1 pm.
Many of you will have seen Mrs Henderson with her new baby ‘Murray’ in nursery today. It was lovely to see her with her new addition to the family. Today we had pancakes with jam or butter and fruit for snack.
Yesterday we had a visit from our dental health support worker called Susan and she was helping all the boys and girls to brush their teeth in the correct way. Please be aware that the advice is now to NO LONGER rinse your teeth with water after brushing because the toothpaste helps to keep the plaque at bay.
Children were all happy to return to nursery and had a great day playing outdoors, planting potatoes and having fun indoors. Our current theme is Growth, focusing in on their own growth, looking at how plants grow and how to look after babies. For snack we had cereals with milk and fruit. We also have a new member of staff Miss Cunningham who will be here until Mrs Henderson returns.
The boys and girls have had lots of fun learning about how to look after babies in the house and in the water. Children were also playing out in the Learning Zone. Most children got their teeth varnished with fluorides! Sports Relief went very well with children making sports people paper plates.
