Enrolment

Enrolment of Pupils

It is the usual enrolment practice for parents who are seeking a place for their child in the school, to visit, along with the pupil, to discuss arrangements with the Head Teacher. These visits can be most valuable, and where possible, it is requested that parents pre-arrange their visit by telephone.

This year children should be registered online via the NLC school enrolment site.

Registration of children for an August Primary 1 class is carried out in January. The arrangements for registration are detailed in letters to parents and in the local press. Parents may decide at the time of registration that they wish to enrol their child in the local school, or may decide to make a Placing Request to the Executive Director of Learning and Leisure Services if they wish to enrol their child in another primary school.

Pre-5 Workshops

Pre-5 workshops are organised by our  Acting PT, Mrs Lorraine Collins and supported by the Primary 1 Teachers during May and early June.

The children and their parents take part in a variety of educational activities including – computing, rhymes, number, shape and language. Later on, in June, the children are invited into their new class bays to work with their new teacher. At the same time the parents attend an information meeting organised by Mrs Lorraine Collins, where parents are given the opportunity to ask questions and to inform the school about any particular concerns they may have regarding their child.
