The children have made a great start to Primary 1 and have been learning lots every day.

We have returned from a fabulous trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park.  The weather was glorious and we all had a fantastic time.  The ladies in the shop commented on how well behaved we all were!  We went on the boat to visit the chimps, we watched the sea lions do all their tricks at the sea lion show, we walked round the petting zoo and tried to speak to the animals, we went to the shop to buy a new toy and then we still have time left to play in the play park!  It was a busy day!

Thank you Richard for teaching us some football skills today.  We had lots of fun even in the rain!

We are learning about fruits and vegetables and where they come from.  Today we made our own orange juice and learned that oranges grow on trees.

First we had to cut the orange in half.  Then we pushed, squeezed and twisted the orange on the juicer.  Next we poured the juice into a cup.  Finally we drank the orange juice.  Most of us enjoyed it and wanted more!

We worked very hard today to create a poster advertising the school Summer show ‘Annie’.  We had to use a persuasive phrase on our poster.  Well done to Emma Sophia, Daniel and Owen who got a Head Teacher’s sticker for their work.

Primary 1 successfully completed their sponsored read at Abronhill Library on Wednesday 20th May and we would like to say a big thank you to all family and friends who sponsored them.  They raised a total of £270 and we will use this to support our food technology topic that we will be carrying out next month.

It has been lovely to read and share the children’s projects on their favourite animal.  There has been a lot of hard work gone into these. Thank you.
