Homework

Homework website imagePupils are normally given homework at every stage of the school. Work at home is encouraged for two reasons:

  • it increases children’s independent learning and it allows parents to work with their child.
  • it also allows parents to see what work is being done in the school.

Pupils are given homework which reinforces the skills already taught. Homework should not take longer than 15-30 minutes to complete and children should be stopped from working if they appear to be experiencing difficulty with it.  Work given could include reading, spelling/phonics, written language work, maths or some research work for a topic. At all stages children are aware of the high standards expected of them. This is also true of homework and we would encourage you to check all work before it is submitted.

We now post homework on each class’ page on Microsoft Teams. Information about accessing this and submitting completed tasks online is given to every child.

If at any time you have a difficulty regarding your child’s homework please contact the school.
