In Stephen’s Primary we aim to provide a broad, general education within a stimulating, caring and nurturing environment, promoting positive attitudes within the community.
The school Moto is:
Love to Learn, Live our Faith, Be all We can be, Today, Tomorrow, Together
Our Vision is:
Every child has access to a relevant, motivating curriculum that nurtures, supports and challenges pupils, through active learning experiences, to develop attitude, transferrable skills and confidence that will enable them to reach their full potential and allow them to embrace the world in which we live, now and in the future. We want our children to be resilient, included and to have the confidence to promote their Catholic values and have the skills to exercise their Rights and articulate their own views and opinions, in order to shape their future. We want to equip children with necessary skills, knowledge and understanding of how to keep themselves safe at home, on the street and online. We want to encourage ambition in all, by providing them with relevant leadership opportunities and by giving pupils ownership of their own learning and developing skills for learning, life and work, including career management skills.
We aim to:
· Ensure that all pupils and staff have access to opportunities that enable them to achieve their full potential, educationally, spiritually, socially and emotionally within a safe, happy, secure and trusting environment.
· To ensure that children are given the opportunities to become successful learners through effective learning and teaching based upon clear aims, policies and through structured learning programmes which offer both challenge and support.
· To encourage all children to develop an appreciation of self-worth, respect for themselves and others, in an environment where success is celebrated and promoted, thus encouraging all children to become confident individuals.
· To strive to create and maintain a positive partnership between parents and the whole school community where each plays a vital role in the development of our children’s moral and social values in order that they become responsible citizens.
· To foster independence and the development of positive attitudes and self-discipline within an agreed School/Class Charter, taking account of UNCRC, to ensure that all children feel accepted and valued, encouraging them to be effective contributors within their environment and to contribute positively to the community, wider society and economy, in the future.
We aim to instil our school values through everything that we do. We aim to ensure that everyone is included, respected, tolerated, ambitious and compassionate and that we do this with courage and perseverance.
