Symmetry, Money, Shape and Data Handling have been our main focus in P2 this term.  We can sort real images into Symmetrical and Asymmetrical columns, we can create our own symmetrical pictures and we can find the line of symmetry in different shapes.  We used Numicon to help us make different amounts of money using 2p, 5p and 10p coins.  We also familiarised ourselves with the coins we use every day.  It was tricky for some of us to make amounts like 3p because we don’t have a 3p coin but the Numicon shapes helped as did our help sheets.  We had lots of real life examples of 3D objects to help us recognise and name the shapes and made our own 3D objects out of nets.   We had fun finding right angles in the classroom too, who knew there was so many?!   We have also been creating our own bar graphs and pictographs and we are now able to answer questions about graphs and are able to use appropriate vocabulary including least, most, fewer than and more than.
