Our P3/4 Scientists had a great time at the Glasgow Science Centre. We learned all about our new topic Clyde in the Classroom, and how to look after our Brown Trout eggs. After getting all the information, we had fun interacting with all the exhibits.
Stay tuned for some fishy updates!!

Today P5/6 enjoyed a stimulating trip to the Sky Academy Studios in Livingston. We began the day by researching volcanoes which were the subject of our news report. Copies of the report will be sent to us over the next two weeks. Well done everyone for representing St Kevin’s impeccably and showing some great teamwork skills!

In Primary 2 we have been busy learning about money and practising our number skills using lots of resources. We have been enjoying lots of active learning using our numicon tiles, blocks, whiteboards and smart board activities. We have also been using the Sumdog app to reinforce our learning and we are getting much more confident using this app.
Our topic this term is ‘under the sea’. We will be learning about sea creatures, boats, waves and the water cycle. We also hope to take part in a competition about water pollution towards the end of the term. Our display is almost complete- photographs to follow.

This week we were learning about engineering .
Miss McLaughlin set the children a challenge to build a structure that could stand for at least a minute . They had to use spaghetti and marshmallow to create a structure similar to the Eiffel Tower .
Firstly we looked at similar structures on the smart board and discuss what made them successfully .
We had a lot of fun working together and even enjoyed eating a few marshmallows too !
Next week we will be learning about Science .
