Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Primary One have been very busy preparing for the Christmas Nativity Show and have worked very hard during rehearsals to learn all their parts and carols. They gave a fantastic performance on the day!

The children thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas party, games and goodies and looked very smart in their party clothes.

Primary One were very excited to meet Santa and receive a gift and demonstrated excellent listening skills when making reindeer baubles.

The children are looking forward to the panto and a relaxing break after all their hard work.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2018 from Mrs Pearson and the children of Primary One!

Friday 15th December

Hello from Primary 6/7, we are well underway with our enterprise topic, we have been working in our groups creating our Christmas gifts to sell next week. Each group is creating something different!

group 1- mini stockings filled with Christmas sweets

group 2 – tree decorations

group 3- Christmas sweetie bags

group 4- reindeer hot chocolate bags

group 5 – snowman lollies

The boys and girls have been working well in their teams, they agreed on a product, carried out market research, researched cost of production, created posters and fliers to advertise the product and produced the items. Each pupil had a different role; manager, secretary, treasurer and sales executive, they have been taking their job roles very seriously!

Winter Art in P4/5

Today our P4/5 artists had a great time creating their own snow-globe scenes.

What we thought was going to be an ordinary painting activity had a fun twist to it – we painted our pictures using our fingers! We were only allowed to use paintbrushes at the end to add small details. It was really tricky to stay inside the circle of our snow-globes, but we all managed it well.

We also finished work on our class art project, which was to create a winter scene. We have been working hard on it for the past couple of weeks. We started by painting our own abstract snowy backgrounds, which we joined up to create the sky, before adding white paper to make the ground. Then in our groups we used crayons, pens, watercolours and sequins to create our mixed media trees. Lastly, we added our snowman, moon, stars and presents to give our winter scene the finishing touch!

What a great effort by everyone!

Monday is our Christmas party and we cannot wait to celebrate after working hard all term long!

Carol Singing

The St Kevin’s choir visited Morrisons to sing carols in order to raise money for charity. Everyone complimented the beautiful singing. Mrs Logan and Miss McCulloch were having too much fun they forgot to take many pictures, here’s a snippet of the choir in action.

Fete du France in P4/5

Our P4/5 Francophiles thoroughly enjoyed our French day last week.

There was a scavenger hunt and more food tasting! We learned about school and Christmas in France, and made our own French Christmas ornaments. We finished the day  with a ‘Build the Eiffel Tower’ challenge.
