St. Kevin’s Eco Committee will be running a competition during this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight to encourage pupils to think about where their food comes from.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 runs from the 26th of February until the 11th of March, and this year the focus is on supporting the farmers and workers who grow our food.

For our competition we will be encouraging pupils to make their Playtime snack Fairtrade. By choosing Fairtrade they are helping ensure that the person who grew the food was paid fairly for their work.

Each Playtime, our Eco committee members will go around the classes and count how many pupils have brought in a Fairtrade snack. At the end of the two weeks, the class who brought in the most will win a Fairtrade treat! There will also be bananas on sale for those who would prefer to buy them in school.

Any snack that has a Fairtrade sticker on it will be counted!

Good Luck Everyone!
