This week our Primary Three explorers have been continuing on with their investigations of Ancient Egypt.
We began with researching the Pyramids of Giza, which we were able to look at in detail through Google Maps. It made us feel like we were really there! We learned facts about the pyramids and were interested to learn that many have trap doors and secret passages, which were built to keep out intruders. This was very helpful for our Taught Writing task this week which was to write a creative diary entry imaging that we were archaeologists who have uncovered a lost tomb.
We then moved on to looking at Egyptian jewelry worn by Pharoahs, and were so inspired that we decided to create our own.
We made our collars with the pasta donated by all of you, and the headdresses from gold paper and glitter. We had a lot of fun making them and loved wearing them!
This week we also had two birthday celebrations, which luckily for us meant two cakes! Thank you to the parents of both of these fantastic classmates.
Next Thursday our ‘Build Your Own Pyramid’ homework is due, and we can’t wait to see each others creations!
