What a busy time we have had in Primary Three this week!

Our week started off with a super surprise – we found out that author Matt Oldfield had read our letters and was so impressed that he wanted to come in and meet us!

We had a fantastic morning with Matt where he answered all of our questions, read some chapters from his books and even signed our copies! We are so grateful that he took the time to come in and spend time with us.

We also continued on with our Plants in Animals topic through the subject of Art. We have begun an artist study on Georgia O’Keeffe, who we know is the most successful female still life painter. We enjoyed looking at and discussing her flower work, and were amazed to learn that she didn’t even like flowers! We were so inspired that we decided to paint our own flowers – focusing on the different shapes and colours we could see when looking at them close up.

As you can see we had fantastic results! We can’t wait to add these flowers to our wall display which will feature other works inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe.

Thursday night was a very special occasion for some of our classmates. It was their Reconciliation where they received their second sacrament. All of the children present did an outstanding job, and all of their classmates are so proud of them. We had a party this afternoon to celebrate!

We can’t wait to see what next week has in store for us!
