P.2 Thursday 21st May

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all well. Thank you to everyone for working hard this week and thank you to parents for encouraging this at home! It is much appreciated.

I have uploaded today’s virtual classroom, the tasks are on the whiteboard. When you click on the crucifix it may as you for log in details. This is your full Glow email and password. For example; gw17smithjohn@glow.sch.uk rather than just the name part.

There will be a live stream of Bishop Toal celebrating mass today for the Feast of the Ascension. I will post the link here for anyone who wishes to watch the mass. As a school, we would have been going to mass so it might be nice for the kids to watch, if possible.

Finally, tomorrow and Monday are holidays so no school work on those days!

Apologies for the long winded message! Have a great day and remember to check in!

Good morning Primary 1! I had some delightful feedback yesterday about using the Virtual Classroom for learning. I am pleased that it worked well for you. Today, the classroom has changed a bit, so see what you can discover. Start off by logging into Glow as usual, then click on the whiteboard to get the daily grid of tasks and it will help you explore the classroom. Don’t forget to click on me and listen to my message! Enjoy! Remember to share your work with me.

Good morning children!
I hope you are well and managed to enjoy some of the sunshine yesterday. Thank you to those who kept in touch yesterday, some fabulous work going on there. For those who I haven’t heard from, I can’t stress enough how important it is that you get in touch. Please do this today.
Here is the plan for today…

Thursday 21st May

We are doing a nice task based on all the reading we have done this week, then more Sumdog! This is the last day of the North Lanarkshire competition, it ends at 8pm. Let’s make it count P6! You can do it. If you get all of that done, there is some P.E. in the afternoon.
I am here if you need anything or have any worries at all!
Have a great day everyone 💛🌈

Be Kind To Yourself 21.5.20

Good morning everyone.

As we are off tomorrow, today is our last focus day for Mental Health Awareness Week. The task I have for you to do today is a very simple one; be kind to yourself! You are all working really hard and should be very proud of yourselves.

There are new tasks in today’s Health and Wellbeing folder, including a fun alphabet fitness task and an activity sheet outlining ways we can be kind to ourselves.

1. P.E. Lesson

4. Health Focus – Be Kind To Yourself

A new building challenge will also go up on ClassDojo later this afternoon, so look out for that and remember to send any photos or share them on your class Glow page.

Have a lovely day everyone and remember, be kind to yourself!

Primary 3 Thursday 21st May

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all well. I have today’s daily plan. Today’s literacy focus is story writing- can you write an imaginative story using one of the story prompts on Glow? In class, we were practising reading over our own work to make sure we included punctuation. I am looking forward to reading all of your fabulous stories!

Today’s main numeracy task is Sumdog. As tomorrow is a Bank Holiday and we will not be doing online learning, today is the last day of the North Lanarkshire Sumdog competition. We need at least 10 players per class to join in on the competition. It would be super if everyone could make a big effort to log into Sumdog today.

Today is also Ascension Thursday- a day when the school would usually go to Mass. The Bishop is streaming a live Mass at 11am. This is in the daily plan.

Thursday 21.05.20

I hope everyone has an amazing day. Don’t forget to send me a picture of your work today.

Miss McLaughlin 🙂

Hi All

I hope you all are well and enjoying the sunshine!

I know that you all enjoyed coding during our Stem lessons. Today have a go at some coding games. Google code.org and try some of the coding challenges. You could choose Minecraft to test your creativity and problem solving skills or try the Flappy code challenge and write your own Flappy code.

Good luck Code Breakers!

Happy Thursday! Have a great day and stay safe.
