Good afternoon boys and girls. This week is a consolidation week where we are revising previously taught words and phonemes.
Monday – red and blue group– choose a fun way to practise your common words (pyramid spelling, rainbow spelling, fancy spelling, playdough, chalk, pasta or any other fun way you wish) – another, watch, time, windy, gave, family, how, might, learn, children, because, earth.
Green group – choose a fun way to revise your common words- had, see, has, play, no, look, him, like, made, said, big, could, out, down, off.
Tuesday – A spelling challenge has been set for you on sumdog. It includes your spelling revision words and phonemes. Anyone who completes the challenge will be rewarded with 200 coins.
Wednesday – Number worksheet (this will be given out on Tuesday).
Reading – every night.
Please return your book on a Friday so that it can be quarantined for 72 hours.

I would like to start by saying a big well done to all of you for taking part in last week’s North Lanarkshire Sumdog contest! You all worked so hard and tried your very best.
774 classes took part and our class finished in 116th place!
Amazing effort boys and girls! I am so proud of you all!
I would also like to say a special congratulations to Adam who was our class champion!
This week your child has been set tasks for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night. To keep us all safe, we have decided that all completed work should be kept at home (until further notice). Please remember to send back the clear zippy wallet empty on Tuesday and return your reading book on Thursday.

We have learned all of the addition facts for 2, 3, 4 and 5. Children are encouraged to memorise these facts for rapid random recall.
Use practical materials at home to show all the different ways to make 2, 3, 4 and 5. You could use pegs, toy cars, playdough or playing cards.
Remember Jack Hartmann is always there to help if you get stuck. Just search Number Bonds for 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Good afternoon boys and girls, please find this weeks homework tasks below.
Monday – Red and Blue group – the phoneme “th” wordlist e.g. this, that, then making the sound “the”. Be careful with is phoneme. The video below explains the two different phoneme sounds that “th” makes.
Green group – the phoneme “oa” wordlist – remember our rhyme “goat in a boat”.
Tuesday – Common words – choose a fun way to practise your words – you could do rainbow spelling, pyramid spelling, UPPERCASE/lowercase, fancy spelling, foam, pasta or plasticine.
Red & Blue group – spring, sunny, those, home

Wednesday – Sumdog maths challenge.
