Please check your child’s bag. An electronic copy is also available on the school website. Please contact the school office if you do not have a paper copy and one will be provided.
It was wonderful to welcome everyone back to school after the long summer break. We hope you all had a lovely summer holiday with your family. We can happily report that everyone settled in well to their new classes and looked resplendent in their new uniforms. They really are a credit to you all. Our new Pr. 1 pupils were fantastic and enjoyed making lots of new friends. The Pr.7 buddies have been doing a great job supporting the newest members of our school community settle in to their new environment.
We look forward to working with you all in the year ahead.
In order to support a positive learning environment for pupils and to help make the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) more prominent and relevant P7 had the opportunity today for quality discussions to take place. We discussed what makes a good class and shared the qualities we would like our teachers to have and what we need to do to be good pupils as well as what we would like included in our lessons.
By taking part in this task we encouraged lots of pupil led dialogue and got to share what is most important to us in our own classroom context. Our next steps are to agree what is most important to us – we might even vote before agreeing on our Class Charter.
Our fabulous P1 children met their P7 buddies today and got to spend some time together at break and lunchtime. Here are a few pictures – as you can see they got on brilliantly.
School is open to pupils tomorrow. Classes from Primary 2 to Primary 7 should line up in their new classes (allocated before the holidays). New Primary 1 pupils should arrive at 9.30 am (for the first day only and can be picked up from 2.45 pm). They will be brought straight into class and parents can stay briefly for a photo opportunity. Looking forward to seeing you all!
