Summer Fete

Our summer fete was a great success and as promised here are the photographs to give you a flavour of this annual event in the school calendar. Our P.T.A. have reported that over £1,200 was raised on the day. This was a fantastic sum of money and we thank everyone for their great support. Our great thanks is also extended to all P.T.A. members who worked so hard to get everything organised for the event and for their great work on the day. A special thanks is extended to Mrs.Robb, P.T.A. Chairperson, who has now retired from her post as Chairperson. She has made a marvellous contribution to the school over the last 6 years and the P.T.A. and school are sad to see her step down from her post. Her dedication and commitment to the school are wonderful and we sincerely hope she remains an active member of Our P.T.A. Our young musicians performed on the day and entertained everyone with their musical talents. They were a treat to listen to and watch.

Sports Day

Our sports day was a resounding success with everyone in the school taking part and joining in the spirit of the event. The weather was extremely kind to us all day as we basked in the sunshine between races. Many thanks to the army of mums and helpers who came along to help out on the day to make sure everything ran so smoothly. Many thanks also to our Sports Leaders from St.Ambrose who did a marvellous job stewarding the event. We were delighted that so many of our mums and dads took part in the final races, you really showed the wonderful community we have here at St.Augustine’s? I am quite sure your children were proud of you even if you didn’t win as it is all about the taking part!!

Hopscotch Theatre Company

This week has been an action packed week at school with lots going on for everyone. Monday got off to a flying start with a visit from Hopscotch Theatre Company with their production of ‘What a Load of Rubbish?’ This was a highly entertaining and informative show that was perfectly pitched for everyone. Here are a few pictures of the morning’s entertainment.

Summer Fete

Our summer fete was a huge success despite the unseasonal weather which did not dampen the spirits of the hoard of parents, grandparents and children who came out in force to support the great work of our wonderful P.T.A. members.Technology has let me down this evening so as soon as I get things working I will post pictures of the fete. Thank you everyone for your great support on the day and for spending your hard earned money. I will update you shortly on what was raised on the day.

Room 15 and 16 and their Health Week Update

Rooms 15 and 16 have been busy this week with a wide variety of activities that took place around our Health themed week. They had a visit from SSPCA and Alcohol Awareness. They also enjoyed a highly informative workshop from Child-Line. They were kept active with a programme of activities that involved playing football, bubble football, cricket and self defence classes. Let’s hope the strong messages that were presented all week have left a long and lasting impression.
