Talented pupils
Two star gymnasts from Mr.O’Dowd’s class were keen to show off their talents to their classmates this week. We look forward to seeing the gymnastic talents of the rest of the class after such brilliant demonstrations. Well done girls!
Outdoor Learning Day
Our school grounds were are an extremely busy place as classes across the school took advantage of the good weather and got outside for outdoor learning day. Here are a few highlights showing Pr. 1,2 and 7 making use of our school grounds and carrying out some excellent teamwork.
Careers Day
Many thanks to all the contributors who gave up their time and came along today to support our second Careers Fair. It was a resounding success thanks to their commitment and enthusiasm. We really could not have done it without such dedicated supporters of the school. Our contributors provided the children with the opportunity to learn about a wide array of professions such as acting, printing, aircraft engineering, science, optometry, pharmacy, karate, banking, software engineering, dental science, biology, trucking/transport, quantity surveying, real estate, environmental health, health promotion and teaching. It was great to see the children so engaged and eager to ask lots of questions. Our afternoon was a great success with many thanks to our Parent Council for their support in organising the event. Here are a few highlights.
Our Lady of Fatima
Football Festival
Mrs. Drummond reported that the children were exceptional at the football festival this week. Well done boys and girls, you were excellent ambassadors for the school.
CAREER FAIR
As part of our whole school approach to developing the young workforce the school, in partnership with the Parent Council, will host a Career’s Fair tomorrow afternoon building upon the success of last year. Classes from Pr. 3 – 7 will visit the various contributors to talk about their profession and how they began their career. Children will want to find out if they always wanted to get a job in that field and what particular skills are required to be successful. We hope the contributors are prepared for all the questions that will come their way tomorow. The fair will also be opne to parents and pupils from 3 – 4pm tomorrow.
First Communion
Congratulations to Miss Watt and Miss Lester’s class who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion at Mass this morning. They were all so wonderful and were a real credit to their teacher and their families. St. Augustine’s Primary are so proud of you all!! Many thanks to Father Kane for the beautiful service and the support and guidance both he and Sister Eileen have provided to the classes in preparation of the Sacrament today.
