Early Closure on Friday
The school would like to thank all parents for their understanding and patience on receiving notification that all North Lanarkshire schools were to close early on Friday. The school took all necessary measures to ensure parents were made aware of this decision as soon as they were informed. This included text messages, notification on the blog and twitter. The school is aware that issued text messages were not received immediately and there was a significant delay. Unfortunately this issue was beyond the control of the school and the matter will be investigated centrally.
Measuring in Primary 2
Primary 2 was a hive of activity this week when they were learning about measure. The children used meter sticks and got to make things that were a meter long. As you can see from these pictures we have some very successful learners at St Augustine’s Primary School.
Early Closure
Due to adverse weather conditions all North Lanarkshire schools will close early today. Please make arrangements to pick up your child from 12.00. Staff will remain with pupils until they are collected.

Science Centre Visit
Our Pr.5 pupils from Room 15 had a great day out of school today and went off to visit Glasgow Science Centre for the launch of the Fish in School project. Schools across the central belt will be involved in this very exciting project. The children had a fantastic time exploring the science centre. Some were even brave enough to hold a giant cockroach. The children loved learning about fish in the River Clyde and are super excited about the arrival of some new classmates next week. We will keep you posted.
