Here are some pictures from an action packed week so far with the Sion Community. We’ve been so busy learning about our best friend Jesus. We’ve had workshops, assemblies and P1-3 even presented some of their learning to our school community!

Reminder – a letter was sent to all pupils last week to highlight planned changes to the lunch menu due to ongoing building work taking place in the school.  Please note cash will be required each day to pay for breakfast or lunch if your child is not in receipt of free school meals.  There will not a tuck shop in operation this week. Apologies for any inconvenience this will cause.

Our week ahead is an extremely busy one with Parents Evenings taking place both on Tuesday and Thursday.  If you have not already made your appointment online please do so or contact the school to confirm a time. Throughout the week we have an action packed timetable of workshops, presentations, assemblies and prayer services for our MISSION WEEK.  Please check your child’s bag for a letter detailing all that will take place this week. The MISSION TEAM will work with classes this week and prepare them for a presentation to share with parents – Wed. Pr. 1 – (2.00pm), Thurs. Pr. 4 – 7 (2.00pm) – all parents and grandparents are invited to come along and share the learning. Please note the team will also set up a stall this week selling pocket money priced goods to support their Mission – i.e rosary beads.

Many thanks to all parents and grandparents who joined us on Friday for our annual sponsored walk.  The weather was extremely kind to us and made sure everyone had a great time.  We have a lovely walk on our doorstep that gives us great photo opportunities.  A huge thank you to everyone who has already handed in their sponsor money.  If you have not done so already please arrange to get your child’s sponsor money in as soon as possible.

Our Pr. 7 pupils will set off at 9.00am on Monday for their outward bound trip to Kilbowie.  An exciting week lies ahead with lots of new experiences to share and memories to last a lifetime.  Our fingers are crossed that the weather looks kindly upon us this week.

Please note Mrs.Docherty and Mrs.Elliott will accompany the children alongside Miss Watt and Miss Jamieson.  There have been some staffing changes this week to ensure all affected classes are covered.

Both Mrs. Fraser and Miss Ross (Principal Teachers) will deputise this week.

Room 13 invite you to our annual coffee morning!

Our Eco Committee have issued all pupils with a Rag Bag today as part of our raising awareness of Textile Recycling.  By participating we help the environment as well as raise funds for the school.  When returned Textiles are sorted and exported to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe providing good quality second hand clothing.

We would appreciate if everyone could support this project and when ready your donations can be handed in anytime before 6th November.

Another week of celebrating success at our Primary 1 and 2 assembly. Some real superstars of football, running and gymnastics. Well done to the pupils who were singled out for recognition by their teachers and to Room 4 pupils who were the best line this week and Room 3 who were the best class.
