Rag Bag Collection -Deadline Wednesday 6th November
Huge thank you to everyone who has supported our recent Rag Bag Appeal your support is very much appreciated.
Anyone who still has to hand in their donations bags please note the deadline of Wednesday 6th November. Donations can be handed in to Mrs Redmond.
Whole School Assembly
The whole school gathered today for our end of month assembly where we shared some of our achievements and success for the past month.
We recognised maths, writers and artists of the month as well as congratulated our Bikeability graduates. Well done everyone for your achievements.
Credit Union
Huge thanks to everyone who supports the Credit Union each week. The operation of this is an excellent opportunity for our P7s to work with money and apply their maths knowledge in a real life context.
Please note we cannot accept funds without prior completion of a membership application and an account being opened. This can all be done quickly and easily when required by our Membership Officers.
Our collection day is a Friday normally 11.15am. Please get in touch if you would like a form.
Halloween Parade
The whole school gathered yesterday to hear the fabulous songs P1-3 performed for their family and friends at their Halloween Parade.
Afterwards P4-7 showed off their fabulous costumes. Well done everyone for outstanding effort.
Fire Safety Talk
Primary 7 enjoyed their visit from Coatbridge Fire Brigade on the importance of keeping safe on Firework Night. We learned how busy the service is during what is a fun time for us and how we should keep each other safe.
P7 Scotrail Safety Drama Workshop
Primary 7 worked with Kat from Scotrail this week on the important subject of keeping safe around railway lines.
NLC Firework Display
The Fire Brigade visited the school today to carry out a presentation with Pr.6 and 7 pupils in regard of the danger of fireworks. Please note North Lanarkshire Council will host a number of free displays next week. On Monday the annual display will take place in Drumpellier Country Park (previously this was held at Dunbeth Park). The event starts from 6.30pm with bonfire being lit at 7.15pm and firework display at 8.00pm.
Please note that for Drumpellier Country Park, parking is available at St Ambrose High School and Lochview Golf Centre. There is limited parking within Drumpellier Country Park, including disabled parking, and the car park there will close at 6:30pm. NLC would encourage people to bring a torch and wear reflective clothing as some areas are not lit. Parking restrictions will be in place on Townhead Road and Gartcosh Road.
Please note sparklers are not allowed within the venues. NLC have indicated that glow in the dark wristbands will be available for children to wear to help children in reuniting with parents is they become separated. Wristbands will be available at the event and are also available at M & D’s.
