You may be aware that a pupil at the school has displayed symptoms of coronavirus and is now self-isolating. While this is not a confirmed case, a deep clean of the school has been carried out today and the school will open as normal on Monday March 16.
The council continues to work closely with NHS and it is important that the national advice on symptoms is followed. Anyone with a new, persistent cough and fever should not attend school and self-isolate for 7 days. More information and advice can be found on www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus.

Eco Committee
The Eco Committee met to discuss the areas we feel need attention to ensure our school remains an Eco friendly place. The agenda was busy but we got through it all and left with lots of action points.
Our next project is to encourage as many pupils as possible to ensure they take home their lunch boxes as currently far too many are left behind which means they start to smell and make our school look untidy. We think we may give a prize to the class with the least on the trolly at the end of the day.
Eco Committee Repair Fairy Garden
It was great to get outside today and spend some time repairing our fairy garden which had sadly been affected by the bad weather. We washed our decorative items and laid out a new pathway ready to encourage people to check out our bug hotel. We checked things out and saw lots of big worms, slugs oh
and a massive spider!
Scottish Primary Engineering Awards
Mrs Drummond has been looking through our entries for the Scottish Primary Engineering Awards and is delighted at our inventions. She has loved all the visitors to her class showing off their fabulous drawings and prototypes. It’s probably just as well Mrs Drummond doesn’t have to buy all these fabulous ideas. She has signed up for the torch that goes around the corner and the silent hairdryer for dogs. Wow! Just look at this fabulous homework project. Keep up the creativity boys and girls.

Lenten Charity Appeal
At our whole school assembly last week we were joined by Martin Mann, a representative from MISSIO, who spoke to the children about the great work of MISSIO. This will be our main charity during Lent with all classes involved in fundraising. Children have MISSIO boxes in their classrooms to collect any spare change to compete with houses in order to see which house can collect the most money during Lent. This week our Pupil Council are running a number of events and competitions at a cost of 50p each that are linked to our Literacy Week and World Book Day on Thursday.
