What’s on this Week?

Last week was our financial education week. We enjoyed visits by Money Adivce Scotland and HMRC.  North Lanarkshire’s Financial Inclusion Team also visited the school a few weeks ago. We are confident the children have a much more informed knowledge about how to manage money and just how challenging it must be to manage the family budget. We are quite sure Money Saving Expert, Martin Lewis, would be most impressed with the work undertaken across the school to teach necessary life skills.  Our twitter page also has lots of featured news about the wonderful learning that took place last week. Please check our twitter page.  This week we will have a focus on Safer Internet.  Classes across the school will focus upon teacing children about how to stay safe online – another important life skill.  This week we will also receive a visit from NSPCC who will deliver assemblies and carry out workshops with Pr. 6 and 7 pupils. What’s on this week?

This week it is our Financial Education week with all classes across the school focusing on all things money related.  There are planned visits by HMRC who will deliver workshops in a number of classes during the week.  Pr. 6 will also get involved in an exciting day long workshop called ‘Enterprise is the  Business’  that will also include an invitation to parents to join them at 2.15pm and find out all about the learning that day. Meet our Sports Leaders

Vikki Atkinson our Active Sports Co-ordinator  visited us today to present some of our Primary 7 pupils with their Sports Leaders Certificates.  Huge congratulations boys and girls.   These pupils will be running lunchtime activities for our younger pupils now that training is complete.  We can’t wait to see the wonderful activities available. Good luck everyone we are sure you will be fabulous.

Sportshall Athletics Final

Some of our P6 and 7 pupils went off to Ravenscraig on Friday for the NL finals of Sportshall Athletics.

It was without a doubt a fantastic day. Every pupil who went worked their socks off and should absolutely be proud of their efforts.  Sadly we didn’t win, but came home with no regrets.  Our team showed determination, grit, superb team work and fun.  Mrs Drummond lost her voice she was cheering so much!
