Award Winners

Once again the school was delighted to see a collection of superstarts being awarded Pupil of the Week Awards, Marevellous Manner Awards and Good Citizen Awards.  It is great to see our children being recognised for their excellent effort in school.  Well done boys and girls!!

Well done St.Aug’s Football Team

Our fabulous football team took part in another thrilling game at St.Ambrose.  Yesterday they played against Greenhill and were very disappointed that the final score was 6-5 to Greenhill.  They had a chance to make it even in the dying minutes of the game but it was not to be.  The boys have been excellent ambassadors for the school and shown great talent and sportsmanship in all their ties which is great to see.  We are confident they will be successful in their next match.  Keep up the great work boys!!!

Congratulations

Congratulations is the order of the day for one of  our very talented Pr. 7 pupils .  Leah Ward has become a finalist in The Advertiser Short Story competition.  Out of hundreds of entries from across Coatbridge and Airdrie we are delighted and very proud that one of our pupils has made it to the  short list. We look forward to hearing how she gets on in the next edition of  our local paper . We’ll done Leah!!

Christmas Fair

christmas-fairOur Christmas Fair is fast approaching and the school would like to make a request for donations for the following stalls.  We are looking for donations for our bottle stall, tombola stall and also for a children’s tombola stall.  The school would also welcome donations of toys (in good condition) and books.  Please keep the date in your diary –  Sat. 28th November – and come along and support the school and the great work of our P.T.A. who have worked tirelessly throughout the last few weeks to get everything organised. Classes will also showcase and sell the products they have been making as part of their enterprise projects.   The school is also delighted to announce a very special visitor will be in residence to speak to all the boys and girls – Santa will be at St.Augustine’s school and will be found in his grotto!!! There is lots to look forward.  The school and P.T.A. thank you in anticipation of your generosity and support for the community life of the school.

Talent Show

Our hard working Pupil Council ran a highly professional talent show on Friday afternoon that really showcased the wonderful talent we have here at St.Augustine’s Primary.  We had a wealth of talent on show, ranging from singing, dancing, gymnastic routines to musical talent being showcased.  The show was amazing with the audience enthralled with the quality of entertainment on show.  Great work Pupil Council who have worked hard over the last few weeks auditioning acts and creating a fabulous programme of talent.  Well done to all the acts who took part, you were all winners and a real credit to the school.

School Assembly News

Our excellent and hard working Junior Road Safety Officers have been working extremely hard over the last few months to create a School Travel Plan that will impact upon the health and wellbeing of the school community.  On Friday they opened the school assembly and informed everyone of their aims and how they hope to achieve them.  There were quite a few of our children who received a special commendation for their quality entries to the recent Road Safety competition.  Our school assembly also included excellent presentations by the Eco committee in regard of Switch Off Fortnight and the Global Citizens who are running a campaign in aid of Coatbridge Food Bank.  Pupils have been asked to bring in tinned and packet food for the foodbank over the next few weeks.  All donations will be gratefully received.  Here are a few pictures of a very entertaining and informative assembly.
