It was wonderful to return to school this morning and to welcome everyone back after a lovely Spring Break. It was lovely to see a hall full of smiling faces (pupils and staff) eager to start a new term and feeling fully refreshed. Children were reminded that this is a very busy time of the year with lots planned throughout the school term. Children were also informed that their teachers will be very busy working on writing end of term reports to be shared with parents. Everyone left the hall knowing that they had to work hard this term to impress their teacher and to prove that they were ready for the next big move whether it was to a new primary stage or to high school. I look forward to updating you on a regular basis about the great work taking place here in school and to the great variety of events that take place throughout the term. Please remember to check our school blog and our twitter account for regular updates and news.

Impressive Homework in Room 14
The pupils of Pr.6, Room 14 were sharing their learning this week. They were set the challenge to find out about the history of navigation as a result of work on compass directions. They gave super presentations to their classmates and impressed their teacher with their skilled delivery. Well done Room 14!
Canon Foley’s Diamond Jubilee
During Lent it is lovely to see so many of our children and families attending morning Mass at St.Augustine’s Church at 8.30am. Please keep it up and if you have not joined us yet please do. Could I remind everyone that due to the celebration of Holy Mass for Canon Foley’s Diamond Jubilee on Thursday evening at 7.00pm there will be no morning service on Thursday either at 8.30am or 10am. Father Kane has extended a generous welcome to all parishioners to attend the service and to come along to a buffet reception in the school hall afterwards. Canon Foley is celebrating his Diamond Jubilee and St.Augustine’s Parish and School have been deeply honoured and privileged to have been led by Canon Foley’s spiritual guidance and service for thirty years. As a school community we wish Canon Foley our best wishes and will continue to pray for him as we prepare to celebrate with him the gift of his priesthood.
