Sportshall Athletics

Some of our Pr. 6 and 7 pupils represented the school at a sportshall athletics event at Airdrie Leisure Centre on Friday. This was a highly competitive event to qualify for the NL finals.  Our fingers are crossed that our group of athletes have scored high enough.  They are to be commended for their great effort and determination on the day.  Fantastic work boys and girls.

Congratulations

Congratulations is the order of the day for one of  our very talented Pr. 7 pupils .  Leah Ward has become a finalist in The Advertiser Short Story competition.  Out of hundreds of entries from across Coatbridge and Airdrie we are delighted and very proud that one of our pupils has made it to the  short list. We look forward to hearing how she gets on in the next edition of  our local paper . We’ll done Leah!!

Well done to our footballers!!!

A huge well done is expressed to our football team who played superbly against Carnbroe Primary at St.Ambrose today.  Unfortunately they were narrowly defeated after an exciting game.  The final score was 4-3 and were extremely unlucky not to get a draw in the end.  A huge thank you to Mrs.Redmond for taking on the responsibility of managing our school team.  The boys were outstanding representatives of the school and we wish them continued success in their future fixtures.  Well done boys!images

Sponsored Walk

It is wonderful to announce that so far our sponsored walk has raised over £2,300 for school funds. This is an astonishing amount of money and reflects the amazing generosity of all our parents, families and wider community. Could I please ask that any outstanding sponsor money be sent to the school by the end of this week. Many thanks in anticipation of your response.

Football League

Some of our Pr.7 pupils took part in a football match yesterday at St.Ambrose High School as part of the newly formed Coatbridge Friendship League. They were highly commended for their skill and sportsman like behaviour. Well done team! We are delighted to report they won their first match and we look forward to many more victories in the good name of St.Augustine’s Primary School. As soon as we have a team photograph we will post it on the blog.

Party Night!!

The disco was a great success and everyone had a fabulous time. Afterwards everyone went for a drink and we celebrated with the birthday boy. Here are a few of our pictures. We are delighted that you have been keeping up with us throughout the week.
