Pr. 7 Retreat
Our Pr.7 pupils attended their retreat on Friday lead by Father Kane and Father Travers. A great day was had by all children who responded well to the call to lead their lives informed by Gospel values and the inspirational lives of some well know saints. Many thanks to both Father Kane and Father Travers for all their support during our retreat week.

Pr. 6 and 7 NSPCC Workshops
The pupils of Pr. 6 and 7 were involved in workshops lead by the NSPCC and Childline this week to learn about using social media responsibly and sharing images online. Our involvement with the NSPCC is now well established in our school calendar as we aim to continue to raise awareness about safer internet use and cyberbullying. Many thanks to Richard and his team who also delivered at our assemblies last week.
Rotary Young Writer of the Year
This year our Pr. 7 pupils took part in the Rotary Club’s Young Writer of the Year Award. One of our very talented pupils won this prestigious title and brought a great deal of success to the school. She is an accomplished writer and aims to embark upon a literary career in the future. She won a beautiful crystal bowl and a framed award alongside a cash prize for herself and one for the school. Most importantly of all she got to read her wonderful story to the school and has surely inspired others to write. Quite an achievement and a great talent of which we are immensely proud!! Our loss will be St.Ambrose gain when she moves to the High School in August.
Gaelic Football Finals
Our Pr.6 and 7 Gaelic Football teams represented the school at the Gaelic Football Finals this morning. Thankfully we had sunshine today! Mrs.Drummond returned to school with a group of highly elated pupils who reported they had won both the girls and boys finals. Mrs.Drummond also reported that she had thoroughly enjoyed her morning and felt extremely proud of our high achievers. Fantastic work boys and girls!! We are all so proud of you!!!
Gaelic Football News
Mrs. Drummond escorted a group of our fabulous Pr. 6 and 7 boys to the first of the Gaelic Football finals taking place this week. She has now become an avid fan of the sport and could not praise the boys highly enough for their great sportsmanship!! High praise indeed! The team picture is after the event as they were so wet and apparently their wee lips were looking a bit blue. Scottish summertime!!
Netball Party
Our dedicated netballers enjoyed a party with Mrs. Elliott to celebrate the end of another successful competitive year. Our netball team has went for strength to strength this year thanks to Mrs.Elliott. We say goodbye to our Pr.7 stars but are confident the Pr. 6 team are ready to take on the challenge for next session.
Pr.7 Wear Yellow Walk Day
Our Pr.7 pupils took part in the St.Andrew’s Hospice Wear Yellow Walk event on Thursday. Both Mrs.Fraser and Mrs.Drummond reported that all pupils were excellent representatives of St.Augustine’s School. Well done boys and girls! Many thanks to everyone for sponsoring the children. Please arrange to send all sponsor money to the school as soon as possible.
