Room 7 visited the Sky Academy in Livingston today. The children were given a challenge to design a piece of technology that could help someone with hearing/sight difficulties. They had the opportunity to use cutting edge technology to create their own adverts for the products. We seen some excellent teamwork with children working as presenters, directors, camera operators and we even had some special effect technicians. Well done everyone!!
Primary 7 have been working with our very own Deacon Mr Harper from our parish as part of our Pope Francis Faith Award preparation. We have been learning more about our Christian Witness and how we can become ambassadors of faith. We shared our knowledge on Church and Holy Communion etiquette today.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us so far. Please remember to hand in any sponsorship money as soon as possible boys and girls.
Our P4-7 Assembly was an opportunity to discuss our school values and how it is important for us to have self belief in our own abilities and judgements. We learned how it is important for us to keep going when things get tough.
At our assembly we also recognised those who demonstrated resilience, hard work, the ability to try their best and also those who challenged themselves. We are so proud of all our award winners.
This week, the children in room 7 enjoyed creating and sharing their own theme park designs. They had to work with a budget of £500,000, work out the opening costs, profit and losses after their opening and advertising costs.
Today P7 worked on their fitness to improve their technique at Gaelic football. As you can see from the attached clips a bit of competitive spirit was on show!
Well done boys and girls for being recognised at our weekly awards assembly for your efforts. Keep up the great work!
P7 have been busy planning their own Theme Parks this week working with a budget of £500,000. They have researched existing theme parks and decided what they would have in their own, managing their budget and working out running costs. Lots of future accountants in the making it seems.
On Friday we held a ballot to allocate places for the forthcoming trip to York in May 2019. The trip was significantly oversubscribed and went well beyond the interest we had anticipated as we had offered the trip to Pr. 6 pupils and also extended the invite to Pr.7 pupils . Unfortunately we had some disappointed children on Friday who were informed they were unsuccessful in our ballot. We are sincerely sorry that this was the case. Letters will be issued tomorrow confirming details for the forthcoming trip and confirmation that your child will be attending. We now have a waiting list of pupils who would be eager to take up a place should one become available so please indicate your intentions and make your return to school by the end of this week. Your support in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
