Titanic Showcase Pr. 5 and 6
The boys and girls of Room 13 and 16 presented their Titanic showcase in the gym hall this afternoon in full period costume. They put together a full presentation that gave lots of interesting facts about the building of the Titanic and the disaster. They complimented their presentation with drama, dance and music. Well done boys and girls, you were truly wonderful despite a very dodgy microphone! Room 15 pupils hosted their showcase event in their class and put a lot of pressure on parents to answer their quiz questions. The powerpoints and presentation skills on display were excellent. Fantastic work boys and girls, a real showcase of all the talent here at St.Augustine’s Primary.
Primary 5/6 Titanic Workshop
The boys and girls of room 13 really enjoyed their Titanic workshop today and loved sharing their knowledge.
Pr.5 Titanic Workshop
The boys and girls of Room 15 enjoyed a full day workshop with the Titanic Outreach Team who came along with props and artifacts. The feedback from Mrs. Thomson was highly positive as she remarked on how much the children enjoyed the event. It was also a great platform for the children to share their own learning.
Roman Workshop
Room 9 and room 12 went to Summerlee museum to attend a Roman workshop. The boys and girls had a great day investigating Roman artefacts and even got to try on some togas. The children were so well behaved that they were allowed to hold a real sword and shield! Well done boys and girls.

P.5 – Debating about the Titanic
Pr. 5 were debating who was responsible for the sinking of the titanic was in 1912. The children learned about the different theories and debated whose fault they felt it was all those years ago. It was a tie between Captain Smith, Bruce Ismay and Captain Lord of the Californian!
