Pr.4 Retreat

Both Miss Lester and Miss Watt reported that the retreat today for Pr. 4 was a great success giving everyone a chance to reflect and think about how they can reflect gospel values in their day to day life.   The children reported that they had a fantastic day.  Many thanks to Father Kane for his support and the well planned retreat and the staff of Kairos Cafe for the delicious lunch!!!

Pr.4 Treasure Hunt

Miss Lester’s class went off on a treasure hunt today as part of their work on compass points.  Miss Lester arrived in class today dressed as a pirate with her own treasure map.  The map lead to great excitement across the class as everyone went outside to follow the map, using their compass and angles skills.  It was an exciting morning and everyone returned to class with a piece of treasure.

Pr.4 Maths

Primary 4 were learning about chance and uncertainty in maths on Friday. They had to work out where the fidget spinner would land – was it more likely to land on a circle or a triangle? Lots of great discussions with  Miss Lester reporting that the children were totally engaged in their learning!! The pictures speak for themselves!

New Additions

The junior and senior department were delighted to welcome an array of new fiction texts to add to their class libraries.  Many thanks to Mrs.Fraser who spent a great deal of time making sure the chosen books will encourage our children to read for enjoyment.  Most of the books purchased appear on Nicola Sturgeon’s Reading Challenge list.  We are thankful to all parents who purchased books are our two previous Book Fairs as the books are purchased with the commission from sales.
