Pr. 1 Visit St.Augustine’s Church
Many thanks to Father Kane and Sister Eileen for their time and patience on Friday as they took the Pr.1 children on a walk around the church and discussed all the features of the church, visited the sacristy, learned all about the different vestments and said a few prayers.
Woodlands Workout
Today primary 1/2 had lots of fun in the garden doing a Woodlands Workout.
We started by warming up our bodies with lots of games relating to bugs and the outdoors. We then got to work using our checklists and clipboards to investigate our very own school Bug Hotel. We saw several bugs, such as; flies, woodlice, spiders, snails and wasps to name a few. Our bugs are enjoying living in their hotel.
We then investigated the woodland area for signs of Autumn, our sticky strips collected, leaves, bark, feathers etc. there are lots of signs already!
After that we used our plastic cups to make Yucky Cocktails with mud and leaves and other items from the garden, we mixed it all up with our sticks. it was very messy!
A very exciting morning outside in the garden.

SUPER SOUP!!
Primary One/Two were very excited coming to school this morning as they were cooking in the kitchen. The vegetables that they harvested yesterday were ready to go into delicious homemade soup. The children had to give the vegetables a good wash first though!
The children learned how to use the grater when preparing the carrots for the soup.
They added potatoes, carrots and onion and some magic stock. The smell was as good as the taste!
Miss Ross reports that the children had a lovely afternoon doing purposeful play; learning role play through Percy and his friends, Making Percy cards at the writing table and using play doh to make exciting things for Percy and his friends.
Later everyone sat down together and had some lovely soup with nice, crusty bread. The boys and girls even sent some soup along to the office for Mrs.Docherty!!! Super soup indeed!!
