Primary 7 worked with Tree of Knowledge last week to prepare them for going to High School shortly. The children were able to discuss some of their worries and came up with strategies to help cope with the next steps.
Our Eco committee recently issued all children with a bag for the Rag Bag Appeal. We are continuing to raise awareness of textile recycling within our school community.
We are hoping you will all have a clear out and help us collect unwanted wearable clothing, paired shoes, handbags and belts which will be exported to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. We cannot accept uniforms, workwear or household items such as bedding, towels etc.
Any suitable donations, no matter how small should be placed in the bag and be dropped off at the school before 6th June please.
Thank you in advance for supporting this event. Should you require additional bags please contact Mrs Drummond or the office.
Primary 6/7 had some visitors from St Ambrose as part of our transition work who taught us how to carry out some science experiments. Fantastic knowledge illustrated and as you can see from the pictures we have some future scientists on our hands.
P6 and 7 were visited by Generation Science yesterday and enjoyed a fun filled highly interactive show. We learned all about how sound is created, the need for a medium for sound waves to pass thorough and we even acted as a sound wave being transmitted through particles to the ear! We discovered that pitch is how high or low a note is and that this depends on the speed of vibrations. Thanks to Generation Science for such an informative fun show!
Congratulations to Primary 4 who celebrated the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday at St Augustine’s parish. We hope you all had a lovely day.
Well done to our weekly award winners who were presented at assembly this morning. Fantastic effort, well done everyone.
Some of our pupils got to go to Parkhead today courtesy of The Kano Foundation. We had a wonderful day despite the result. Our children were fabulous ambassadors of the school. Well done everyone. Thanks goes to Joe Bradley for organising this for us.
As part of our transition work P7 got to work with Mrs Slevin and Mrs Walker from St Ambrose to carry out some science expiriments. We got to share our knowledge and our visitors were very impressed on just how much we knew. We can’t wait for next week.
Primary 7 had a special guest today visiting from Strathclyde University so took the opportunity of showing off their wonderful knowledge on sustainability. The children worked in cooperative groups to investigate the workings of a wind turbine. Mr Hart was very impressed with the knowledge shared and fantastic team work. Superstars indeed.
