ODD CLOTHES DAY FOR LENTEN CHARITIES

Daffodil Tea

On Friday the school threw it’s doors open once again to parents and grandparents as we hosted a Daffodil Tea for Marie Curie, one of our Lenten Charities.  The hall was packed, with additional seating being laid on to accommodate all our visitors. The boys and girls, resplendent in yellow for the occasion entertained with a medley of poetry and song.  Many thanks to our wonderful violinists who also entertained and to our House Captains and Vice Captains who took charge of proceedings. They did a wonderful job and lead the event beautifully. Thank you to  all who attended and for your very generous donations. We hope you enjoyed the morning.

Literacy Week Highlights

Here are a few more pictures from our very successful Literacy Week, snapshots of the infant Parade that featured the children dressed as characters from fiction, parents reading the children’s books and our middle and upper school in full costume! A great week was had by all. Many thanks to all the mums and dads for their great support throughout the week.

Sharing the Learning

A highly entertaining morning took place last week as the boys and girls of Room 12 and Room 15 shared their learning.  The boys and girls of Room 12 shared the novels they had written during our Literacy Week.  Children read enthusiastically and enjoyed the opportunity to impress others with their novels.  Mrs.McGlone reported that she was really pleased that this was successfully received by both classes. Well done authors!

FRIDAY

Daffodil_bloom

Please note our Wear Yellow Day on Friday for our Lenten Charity is a non-uniform day.  Children are asked to incorporate yellow into their clothes that day.

Our Daffodil Tea will take place at 11.30am.  All welcome.  Pr.1 – 3 pupils will entertain with a spring song and our musicians will also be on hand to entertain everyone.

Room 3 Amazing Authors

These fabulous pictures from Room 3 capture the writing process and the activities that the pupils were involved in during Literacy Week.  You can see their storyboards that captured their ideas before the started their redraft.  Great work boys and girls and what exciting stories.
