Kodaly Music Lessons – Pr.5
Pr.5 pupils from Room 15 wanted to share their experiences of music with Mrs.Ewart. Mrs.Ewart visits the school every two weeks to work with Pr.5.
Rabbie Burns Afternoon
Our Pr.7 pupils are hosting a Burns Supper for parents and grandparents today (Wed.) at 1.30pm. Parents and grandparents of Pr.7 pupils will be entertained with music, drama and verse followed by a helping of haggis, neeps and tatties.

Parent Council/PTA Meeting
Please note the Parent Council Meeting will take place on Wednesday 25th Jan. at 6.00pm in St.Augustine’s Parish Centre. Our PTA meeting follows on at 7.15pm in the same venue. This is a change of venue as a result of the rising cost of school lets. All are welcome. Please note there was an error in the school newsletter which had the wrong date.
Tae Kwon Do Taster Sessions
Last week the boys and girls experienced taster sessions for boxercise , today it was the turn of Tae Kwon Do. Our slideshow below shows our children hard at work.
Eco Committee Update
On Friday the eco committee met with Debbie, one of the representatives of Coatbridge Community Orchard. Debbie told us all about the hard work taking place in the west end park and asked us if we would like to get involved planting trees and other fruits and vegetables.
Thank you very much Debbie for coming to see us. We can’t wait to get started. We are going to decide what we can plant in school and perhaps transfer over to the park. We look forward to developing our relationship with you.

Parent Involvement Working Group
The Parent Involvement Working Group of the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) are organising an event for all interested Catholic parents with children currently at school. This Gathering for Catholic Parents will take place on Saturday 21st January between 10am and 12pm in St. Francis Xavier Church Hall, Taylor Avenue, Carfin. The theme for the gathering is; “Supporting Our Catholic Schools” and parents will have the chance to talk to each other about the matters which are important to them regarding Catholic education and to discuss ways in which they can contribute to the Mission of their child’s Catholic school. Places for this event are free, but booking is essential.
