Literacy Assembly – Pr.1 – 3
Our Literacy Assembly for the pupils of Pr.1 – 3 brought to a close our focus fortnight on reading for enjoyment and creative writing. Children across the school were inspired to be authors and illustrators of their own books. Pr.1 – 3 pupils got a chance to share their stories with their parents on Friday and the rest of the school will share their stories with their peers next week. Our book fair remains in the school for a few days next week giving everyone a chance to buy a new book. A £1.00 book voucher is available to all pupils. Please check out our slideshow below that gives highlights of the morning assembly.

Author Visit
The school was delighted to welcome a local author who came along to meet with Pr.7 to launch her first novel. Jane Burns is a local woman who has set her book in Coatbridge and in particular features Summerlee. Her book is titled ‘My Sister’s My Teacher’. We look forward to welcoming Jane back to the school to carry out some creative writing workshops and also to speak with our great readers in Pr.6.
