Pr.4 Retreat

Both Miss Lester and Miss Watt reported that the retreat today for Pr. 4 was a great success giving everyone a chance to reflect and think about how they can reflect gospel values in their day to day life.   The children reported that they had a fantastic day.  Many thanks to Father Kane for his support and the well planned retreat and the staff of Kairos Cafe for the delicious lunch!!!

Rotary Young Writer of the Year

This year our Pr. 7 pupils took part in the Rotary Club’s Young Writer of the Year Award.  One of our very talented pupils won this prestigious title and brought a great deal of success to the school.  She is an accomplished writer and aims to embark upon a literary career in the future.  She won a beautiful crystal bowl and a framed award alongside a cash prize for herself and one for the school.  Most importantly of all she got to read her wonderful story to the school and has surely inspired others to write.  Quite an achievement and a great talent of which we are immensely proud!! Our loss will be St.Ambrose gain when she moves to the High School in August.

Parish Jubilee Mass

Some of our school choir agreed to come along to the Jubilee Service on Sunday and sing the Post Communion Hymn.  Father Kane was delighted to see them and to have them take part in the service lead by Bishop Toal.  Well done girls you did a wonderful job of representing the school.  Many thanks to Mrs.Murray for running our school choir,  they are doing wonderful work!

Sunflower Tea

Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who joined us for the Sunflower Tea in aid of St.Andrew’s Hospice.  Your generosity was most appreciated and raised £160.  A huge thanks to the teachers and pupils of Pr. 1 – 3 who entertained everyone with a selection of songs t get everyone in the mood for Summer.  The only thing we lacked on Friday was the elusive summer sun!

Mock Election

Our Primary 6 pupils undertook a mock election prior to the real deal on Thursday.  The children took the work very seriously organising themselves into political parties and writing their own manifestos.  They even had their own polling station.  Learning in real life contexts indeed!!  I wonder if the next Minister for Scotland was in among the parties represented!

Gaelic Football Finals

Our Pr.6 and 7 Gaelic Football teams represented the school at the Gaelic Football Finals this morning.  Thankfully we had sunshine today!  Mrs.Drummond returned to school with a group of highly elated pupils who reported they had won both the girls and boys finals.  Mrs.Drummond also reported that she had thoroughly enjoyed her morning and felt extremely proud of our high achievers.  Fantastic work boys and girls!! We are all so proud of you!!!
