Primary 6/7 and Primary 7 attended a Glow Meet today with Police Scotland as part of raising awareness of the importance of keeping themselves safe online. We learned how important it is to protect yourself when using social media.

Pr. 1 Cooking
Room 2 were busy in the kitchen last week making porridge. The children weighed the porridge, cooked the porridge oats , prepared the fruit and added honey to flavour. There were lots of cleared bowls with some children eating porridge for the first time!
Pr.1 – Financial Education Week
As part of Financial Education Week, Primary 1 have been introduced to money. They have been exploring real money and are beginning to understand the value of some coins and notes. They also explored other representations of money such as bank cards, credit cards, gift vouchers etc. The children were successful in their learning as they can now identify a variety of coins and differentiate between cards that represent money and cards that do not. Both classes made a grocer’s shop in their classroom. They enjoyed taking on the roll of the till operator as well as the customer. They now understand that everything we buy has a price and money is exchanged for goods.
Sportshall Athletics Finals
Mrs Drummond and our fabulous team attended the finals of Sportshall Athletics on Friday at Ravenscraig to compete against other schools throughout the authority. Unfortunately we didn’t win but were delighted to get so far and to be awarded the Sportmanship Award.
This award was very well deserved. Our boys and girls were a total credit to the school, cheering each other on and congratulating team mates as well and dancing and singing to keep spirits high. Well done everyone we are so proud of you all.
Digital Leaders help set up new technology
Some of our great digital leaders were busy this week helping set up some new ICT equipment the school has recently purchased to enhance learning and teaching across the school. We definitely have some technological whizz kids on our team!
Visit from Bishop Toal & Father Kane
Our Confirmandi children received a very special visit today from Bishop Toal and Father Kane in preparation for their sacrament on 26th February. The children got to ask lots of questions and share with the Bishop details of their confirmation saints. A most enjoyable afternoon. Thank you very much for visiting us today.
