Please note that our Halloween Disco (Thurs. 29th Oct) and Halloween Parade (Frid. 30th Oct.) are fast approaching so please get those costumes organised. Everyone is asked to be in costume for a spooktacular day of festivities!!!
Mid Term Break
The school would like to extend it’s thanks for all your wonderful support from the start of this school session. Our community of faith and learning is one to be proud of and we greatly value the support of our parents and grandparents who contribute so much to our school community. We hope you enjoy your holiday over the week ahead and we look forward to seeing you all on the 19th October and to the beginning of what will surely be an extremely busy term.
Room 10 News
This term Room 10 have been learning all about Global Citizenship and the Rights of the Child. They have shown a great interest in this topic and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about people all over the world. On Friday, the boy and girls worked cooperatively to create a news report all about children’s rights. They each came up with lots of amazing, creative ideas and even had an appearance from Barack Obama!
Thank You
The school community would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who sent in sponsor money after our recent Sponsor Walk along the highlights of our locality. You have helped us to raise £2, 703 for school funds!!! That is a wonderful sum of money that will help us provide subsidised trips for our pupils over the coming year, pay for any theatre companies, authors who visit the school and class resources.
A visitor to the office
I was delighted this afternoon to receive a visit from a very hard working Pr.6 pupil who was eager to share his homework project all about the European Union. He could talk at length all about what he had learned and was very keen to share his project. Great work indeed! I look forward to seeing the research projects from the rest of the class when they have finished.
Thank you to our PTA
Our hard working and dedicated PTA did a wonderful job last night of quenching our thirst with plenty of tea and coffee for both staff and parents. They also provided a wonderful array of homebaking that was delicious. Waistlines were forgotten about as the cakes were simply just too good. Thanks to your wonderful support on the night the PTA raised over £200.
School Counter
The school is delighted to report that it has received over 1,000 hits to the site in one week. As a school we pride ourselves in looking for ways to communicate with all parents the great work taking place here at S.Augustine’s. It is great that we have so many people logging onto our school blog to see the work and achievements of our pupils and the school community. As our blog has been running since March we wanted to find out just how much it was being viewed by parents and pupils. A web counter was added last week and it really is great to learn that our school community is checking our blog. Please note that the old website has now been redirected to the new blog page which has a number of additional features on the drop down menus. The drop down menus aim to inform all parents and visitors to the blog all about the school. Our newsletters will be uploaded and we will feature the current menu from catering services. Thank you for your great support so far.
Aerobics
Some of our children were put through their paces yesterday at their P.E. slots when Frankie and Benny’s came to provide lessons on creating a healthy menu and also running aerobics classes. The children had a wonderful time listening to the music and as you can see from our pictures they enjoyed all took part with great enthusiasm.
Parent’s Evening – Reminder
The school community looks forward to opening it’s doors this afternoon and evening and also on Thursday evening to welcome all parents and carers for the first of our Parent’s evenings. Please remember to sign in when you enter the foyer. Our hardworking and dedicated PTA members have volunteered to provide tea, coffee and homebaking at this event. All proceeds will go towards PTA funds. We look forward to seeing you all this week.
