Room 12 Online Homework

Today, all pupils were issued with a small blue jotter. On the front page it has all login details for their online accounts. The jotter can be used to complete homework, but must NOT be returned to school. P6 were also issued with a homework diary.

All homework should be completed and submitted online, through Microsoft Teams. It can be downloaded as an app or accessed via the Glow platform. Please note, if work is completed in the jotters, take a picture and upload to our class Teams page.

Fishy update!

Primary 5 (formerly rm15) have had their first visit with Paul from @ClydeRF.  We had panicked slightly but learned our alevins are in a state of ‘torpor’, which is like hibernation. We’re doing well with our hatchery though and are having fun looking after our new classmates 🐟

Fishy update!

Room 12 (formerly rm 15) had an exciting delivery today. This afternoon Paul the science guy delivered our hatchery for our new classmates! Paul will be visiting us weekly to see how well we’re looking after them. We can’t wait for their arrival on January 27th.

Final Fishy Update from Room 15

On Tuesday afternoon, Room 15 went to Luggie Burn with our scientist Willie to release the Brown Trout. We are very pleased with how well we have nurtured and looked after our trout. As you can see we had quite a lot to release. The classroom is quiet without the buzz of the tank but we all really enjoyed it! It was fun climbing down the muddy river bank to release the fish in the Burn and for them to continue on their next part of their life.

WE HAVE ALEVINS!!

Our eggs have started to hatch and we now have lots of little alevins swimming about our Hatchery. It was very exciting to see how they’ve developed. We looked closely at them under the magnifier and it was amazing to see them and their yolk sacs. We look forward to seeing them grow!

High Flying homework

Last week, our scientist Willie was telling us all about how humans and fish are similar and how we evolved from them. He told us that when we are in the embryo humans have gills just like fish. They then disappear leaving 3 small bones in the ear. He set a task to find out what these were and this girl was the only one to rise to the challenge! Well done!
